JASON B. DESIDERIO
Associate

Jason B. Desiderio handles complex and international litigation and appeals as part of the firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution group.  Mr. Desiderio is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal, Second, Fifth and Sixth Circuits, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, and all Ohio and New York state courts.  Mr. Desiderio joined the firm’s Buffalo office after practicing with the law firm Rupp, Baase, Pfalzgraf, Cunningham & Coppola. 

A Rochester native, Mr. Desiderio began his career as a litigation associate with a large Ohio firm and served as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in Ohio.  Mr. Desiderio has delivered over 20 oral arguments in appellate cases including cases before the Supreme Court of Ohio and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.  Mr. Desiderio has also has written and opposed certiorari petitions in the Supreme Courts of the United States and Ohio.

Mr. Desiderio began his career as a litigation associate with Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs, in Akron.  In that position, he gained broad experience handling commercial and intellectual property litigation.  He also defended preference cases in bankruptcy court and developed a new method of defending those claims, resulting in saving clients hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Since joining Yormick & Associates, Mr. Desiderio has successfully handled litigation across the country.  In the past year he has obtained positive results for a Washington, D.C. media company against a multinational telecommunications company in New York State Supreme Court in Manhattan and for a Chinese manufacturer in a case against its U.S. distributor in Federal Court in Los Angeles.  Also, Mr. Desiderio obtained a favorable result for an Ohio stamping company against a tier-one auto manufacturer in an AAA arbitration in Detroit. 

Mr. Desiderio is the vice-president of the Erie County Bar Association’s International Law Committee and dedicates part of his time to the representation of the underprivileged.  Recently, Mr. Desiderio successfully obtained a cancelation of deportation for a pro bono client and is currently acting as appointed appellate counsel for an indigent prisoner in Ohio.

Mr. Desiderio received his juris doctor from Case Western Reserve University School of Law. He earned his bachelor’s degree from St. Bonaventure University.  At St. Bonaventure he was Student Leader of the Year in 1999, President of the Student Government Association, Vice-President of Intramurals, and a member of Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society, and Pi Gamma Mu, the National Social Sciences Honor Society.
